Entry: TWILIGHT : THE SECOND YEAR Sunday, July 10, 2005

Its been some time since I last wrote here. How time flies, you may very well say. I had till recently had a serious misconception that the second year is all about chilling out and having fun and just plain timepass. Alas, I was so very wrong!!

The second year brings with it loads of free time, lesser workload, courses of your choice. But it also brings with it opportunities - to do all that you could not do during the first year for lack of time or resources or knowledge or expertise or authority. Since I believe most of us now possess most of these (in varying degrees obviously), it is the apt time for us to engage ourseleves in extracurriculars. After all, books and grades can help you only so much. Beyond that, it is the real world. And the real world wants your personality, your skills, the applicability of your knowledge - not merely the little collection of A+ that you might have.

I personally view the second year as an open door - open to avenues of the various clubs and committees that exist at IMI. My foremost involvement shall be with The Human Edge, the HR Club at IMI. Besides these, I shall be a part of Systematica (the Systems Club), PlaceComm (the Placement Committee) and AlComm (the Alumni Commitee). I shall also be working for Nimbus, the annual college magazine.

My committment to the discipline of Human Resource shall continue in the second year and beyond. I have found HR to be everything I have ever wanted to do - simply because it involves dealing with people and their work. For a start, I shall try and do whatever I can to ensure that The Human Edge reaches the heights I have always wanted it to reach, and progress even further.

Amen...
